"I wrote to you four-and-a-half months YEARS ago and never received a reply! Is anyone out there?"

Like the person in the poem who shot an arrow into the air, you've shot an e-mail into cyberspace and are wondering where, or if, it ever landed anywhere...right? Well, read on.

First, we want you to know that info@authorsandpublishers.org is indeed a working e-mail address, and, unless our server was acting up, we have more than likely received your correspondence. However, our Answer Dude and Dude-ette are (still) a bit backlogged. So if you've written to us and have despaired of ever getting an answer, please accept our most abject apologies. We're plowing through our e-mails, and eventually we'll get to yours.

On the other hand, if you wrote to us about a matter not directly related to the Authors and Publishers Association, you might find it helpful to read the following...

If you're thinking of writing to us, read this first:
Please note that the purpose of this website is to provide information specifically about our organization, the Authors and Publishers Association. Unfortunately, we are not set up at this time to be a comprehensive resource for general information about writing, publishing and book production. Therefore, this website is probably NOT the best place to write to if you have general questions about writing and publishing ("How do I get published?"; "How can I find an agent?"; "How can I establish a career as a writer/editor/proofreader etc.?"). Nor is it the top spot for answers to specific queries about books, publishers, or authors ("How can I find 100 copies of the long out-of-print art book, 'The Nudes of Ernie Bushmiller?'"; "What's the address for BFD Publishing House in French Lick, Indiana?"; "How can I contact Stephen King to invite him to speak to my pre-k class?").

Eventually we hope to set up a FAQ page that will have some general answers to questions about writing and publishing. And we do make an attempt to respond to every e-mail. For now, however, we think you'll have better luck finding an answer to your non-APA-related question(s) if you check out some of the websites on our "Links" page. It may take a few mouse clicks and a little searching, but you just might find the answer you've been looking for. There are also a number of writers' discussion groups you can join, and these are valuable sources of information. Or you might even consider throwing out your question to our own little e-mail community.

Thanks! And thank you for your interest in APA. We will be back soon...really, we promise!
